Layover

Layover is a free daily flight-routing puzzle where you’re given a start airport, a required end airport, a budget, a time cap, and three side-challenges. You build a real multi-stop itinerary by picking real airline routes and chaining legs until you reach the destination while trying to clear the challenges and minimize cost and total travel time.

1. Read the day’s constraints: origin, destination, budget, time cap, and the three side-challenges.
2. Pick a first flight from the origin; the search lists each route’s price and duration, then chain the next flight from the new airport.
3. Keep stitching legs until you reach the required end airport while staying within the budget and time cap and attempting to clear the challenges.

Play Layover to solve a compact routing puzzle that uses real airline routes: plan and optimize a multi-stop itinerary to clear daily challenges while balancing cost and travel time. The scoring rewards smart choices and creative routing to maximize points.

When you view flight options the interface shows price and duration for each route. The route panel updates remaining budget and accumulates trip time; each challenge displays progress (e.g., “No equator crossing yet”). After finishing a route you receive a score out of 100 with a breakdown into challenge, budget, and time components.

• Read all three challenges before booking. Some are easiest to satisfy on a specific leg, so plan the route around them.
• Direct flights are usually cheaper and faster; an extra stop can be worth it only if it unlocks a 20-point challenge.
• Reduce time and cost on individual legs where possible because budget and time score contributions scale linearly.
