Wordzic

Wordzic is a daily music Wordle. You listen to a short song excerpt, then guess the musical word it hides: the artist, the title, or anything the track brings to mind. Green marks a letter in the right place, yellow one found elsewhere, and dark one that is absent; linked green letters form a block in the correct order. Hints unlock after your 2nd, 4th and 6th valid guesses. One word a day, the same for everyone, free and without an account.

1. Press play and listen to the excerpt before you guess.
2. Type a musical word and read the colours: green in place, yellow elsewhere, dark absent.
3. Use the linked green letters, which form a block in the right order.
4. Open a hint after your 2nd, 4th or 6th valid guess when the colours are not enough.
5. Share your grid as coloured squares, with no letters, so nothing is spoiled.

Wordzic suits anyone who hums along to the radio and wants a Wordle where the clue is a song rather than a blank grid. You never lose: the score is the number of guesses and hints it took, so a hard day costs a few more tries, not a streak. It is not for players who want a strict five-letter grid, since the answer length changes with the word. A round takes two to five minutes.

Each guess colours its letters and links the green ones into ordered blocks. Hints appear after the 2nd, 4th and 6th valid guesses, and the share button copies the grid as coloured squares with no letters.

• Return to the excerpt between guesses: its mood often points to the era or the artist.
• Read the green blocks before guessing again; they rule out most of the dictionary at once.
