Angledle

Angledle displays two rays emanating from the same point and asks for the exact number of degrees between them, somewhere between 1 and 359. Six attempts, an integer per attempt, and two returns each time: a temperature word and an arrow. The banner shows the puzzle number, the attempt counter and a numbered medal. Input is via keyboard or with six step buttons: -30, -10, -1, +1, +10, +30.

1. Look at the figure: two rays, a single vertex, no markings.
2. Type an integer from 1 to 359, or nudge the value with the step buttons.
3. Submit with Guess.
4. Read the temperature and the arrow, narrow the interval, repeat until the sixth attempt.

Because the eye thinks it's good at geometry until it's asked for a number. Angledle takes playground hot-and-cold and gives it published thresholds, which turns each guess into exploitable information instead of mere encouragement: after two honest guesses, the puzzle becomes a clean dichotomy, and the only real trap is the moment when the arc crosses to the other side of the straight line.

Two pieces of information per attempt, and the site publishes their exact bounds: So close! means within 5° of the answer, Hot within 15°, Warm within 30°, Cold beyond 30°. The up arrow indicates the true value is larger, the down arrow that it is smaller, and a green check marks the exact answer.

Archive

An entry in the footer. The site's guide says it replays any daily since January 2022.

• The range runs from 1 to 359: reflex angles are included, and the site's guide warns they are almost systematically underestimated, especially around the 180° mark.
• The thresholds are numbered (5, 15, 30): a temperature together with an arrow bounds a closed interval, so aim for the middle of what remains rather than a round number.
• After a So close!, the +1 and -1 buttons are enough: there's no need to retype the whole number; only a handful of candidates remain on the correct side of the arrow.
