Numbun

Numbun hides a secret number whose digits are all different and asks you to find it by reasoned bluff. Two signs say it all: the plus counts the digits in your guess that are correctly placed, the minus counts those that belong to the number but are elsewhere. A zero result means no digit matches. Two composition rules apply: the number never begins with 0 and no digit repeats. The home screen lines up mode cards, each announcing its budget, and the game screen is played on the numeric keypad, with a move counter, a hint counter, a timer, a reorderable list of guesses and an integrated whiteboard to lay out eliminations.

1. Choose your card on the home screen: the Daily Puzzle, the Daily Case, or a Quick Start to practice.
2. Enter a guess on the numeric keypad, respecting the two displayed constraints, no leading 0 and no repeated digit, then confirm with the checkmark.
3. Read the numeric feedback: the plus gives the number of digits correctly placed, the minus the number of digits present but misplaced.
4. Cross-reference successive guesses, using the whiteboard and list sorting if needed, until you identify the secret number.

Numbun takes a very old deduction principle and builds a proper workstation around it: counters, reorderable history, integrated whiteboard, hints on demand, and a Statistics card that tracks wins, streaks and times. The Daily Case is the best idea among them, with its five guesses already placed and three attempts remaining: you don’t start a game, you pick up someone else’s case, which requires reading clues before producing them. Add the free mode with unlimited attempts to practice and the announced offline operation, and you have a numerical deduction game that requires no account, no connection, and not infinite patience.

A pair of numbers, nothing more. Each guess returns a plus and a minus, for example two digits well placed and one present but misplaced, and the game stresses that a zero means no digit corresponds. This feedback never says which digits it refers to; it's up to the player to cross-check. The game screen keeps the totals at the top of the board (moves played, hints used and elapsed time), and displays a status line during the round. The Statistics card announces that the game records wins, streaks, times and modes.

• The two composition constraints are your best ally: no repeated digits, no leading 0. The field of candidates is already much narrower than it seems before the first move.
• The whiteboard is integrated into the game (open whiteboard) and the list of guesses can be reordered: eliminations are placed in the game, not on a scrap of paper.
• Quick Start gives unlimited attempts and access to hints. It’s the right place to try an opening method before spending it on the daily grid, whose budget is fixed.
