Hollywoodle

Hollywoodle gives you a movie poster and blurs it until only color blotches remain; it's up to you to name the film. The page describes itself as a Moviedle-style game where you guess films from their poster. Two support elements accompany the image: a card that announces the release year and the genres, and a search field to submit a title.

1. Open the page; it starts directly on the game, with no welcome screen or cookie wall.
2. Check the active tab in the top selector: DAILY, marked with a calendar, or UNLIMITED, marked with an infinity symbol. DAILY is active by default.
3. Look at the poster on the left. At the first stage it is blurred to the point that only masses of color remain, the composition and nothing else.
4. Read the card on the right, titled RELEASE YEAR & GENRE: it gives the film's release year and its genres, the only written hint on the screen.
5. Submit a title in the bottom field, a search bar with a magnifying-glass icon that displays "Search for a movie…".
6. Follow the six-segment bar under the poster: the first is lit at the start, the others remain unlit.

Because Hollywoodle attacks the cinephile from an unusual angle: not a line of dialogue, not a film image, but a poster. That is, a graphic object designed to be recognized from afar. The blur of the first stage does the exact opposite: it leaves only the chromatic skeleton of that object. The screen is of a rare sobriety for this kind of page: a black background, a poster, a hint card and a search bar, with no counter or countdown to rush you.

All feedback goes through the poster and the bar. The image starts buried in blur and the six-segment bar beneath it marks the reached stage, one segment lit at the start. The card on the right stays fixed; it only gives the year and the genres and never comments on what you propose. The bottom field behaves like a search: text that matches no film changes nothing on the screen, neither a segment consumed nor blur lifted. No numeric attempt counter, no countdown before the next film appears.

Daily

The left tab in the selector, with a calendar icon, active as soon as the page opens. Its state is stored locally with the current date.

Unlimited

The second tab, marked with an infinity symbol.

• The RELEASE YEAR & GENRE card is read before the poster. On an image blurred to that degree, the combination of year plus genres narrows the field much faster than the color blotches.
• The palette remains legible when the shape no longer is. At the first stage, the information lies in the dominant color and in the distribution of light and dark masses, not in the faces.
