Murdle

A murder mystery compressed into a logic grid. Every day you get a fresh case with a cast of suspects, a set of weapons, a list of locations and, on the cases that carry them, motives, plus clues that let you eliminate combinations one by one until only one killer remains.

1. Read the daily case and its lists of suspects, weapons and locations.
2. Work through the displayed clues and evidence, marking impossible pairings on the deduction grid.
3. Use eliminations to force the remaining relationships, as in a logic-grid puzzle.
4. Name who did it, how and where.

This is the one that gives you a story to go with the logic. A daily case asks for sustained deduction rather than a flash of recognition, so it sits closer to a crossword than to a dle. The mini is the reason it works for newcomers: most logic-grid puzzles simply assume you already read the notation, and Murdle sends first-timers there before the full case. Do not pick it as a quick daily habit, because it will not fit in the gap where Wordle fits.

The deduction grid is the core feedback surface: clues constrain relationships among suspects, weapons and locations, so each elimination narrows the remaining solution. The official page also presents a hint option for players who stall.

• Fill in the negatives first. Ruling things out cracks these grids far faster than trying to place the killer directly.
• A clue you cannot use yet is not useless. Note it and come back once two more cells are locked.
• Do the Mini before your first real case. The site points newcomers at the daily mini first, and the notation it teaches makes everything after it readable.
