Vroomdle

Vroomdle hides one car per day, numbered (No. 178 during testing), and gives you ten guesses to name it. Each guess is broken down into six columns: brand, country of origin, body type, starting production year, number of generations and powertrain.

1. Type a brand or model name into the input field.
2. Choose an entry from the suggested list, as instructed by the How to Play panel.
3. Submit using the Guess button.
4. Read the six colored columns on the line, then repeat: the counter "Attempts: 0/10" increases with each try.

Six columns are enough to reason like a true enthusiast rather than by chance: the body type eliminates whole families, the country divides the planet into regions, and the number of generations betrays models that have been around a long time. Ten attempts leave room for a real investigation, with the slightly snobbish pleasure of naming the right one on the fifth line.

Three colors, named by the game's legend: Correct, Close, Wrong. Green indicates an exact match. Yellow means two things depending on the column: a numeric value within the right range, or a country in the same region as the correct one. Gray gives no information. The Year column adds an ↑ or ↓ arrow to indicate whether the actual launch year is later or earlier than the guess.

JDM, American, Old School

Three modes announced by the banner at the top of the page ("New game modes are here!"). The banner proves their existence; their content was not explored during testing.

• The country yellow is regional, not border-specific: a German guess that turns yellow tells you to stay in Europe, not to change continents.
• The Gen column is the one people tend to neglect: it counts the model's generations, so it separates a name used for decades from a newcomer, even when brand and country are identical.
• No need to type a full name by hand: the How to Play panel asks you to type a brand or model and then choose from the suggestions.
