What is Puzzlele?
Puzzlele is a daily block fitting puzzle credited on the page to Bo Isaksson. The board is a seven by seven grid that opens with several coloured blocks already down, and the tray on the right holds the loose pieces, little polyominoes of four or five squares each in their own colour. The control line runs across the top of the page: click select, double click or R rotate, drag place. Above the board sit three difficulty buttons, E, M and H, next to a Hint 1 of 2 button and Reset board, with the date in the headline.
How to play
- Pick a difficulty from E, M or H. The site remembers the last one you used.
- Click a piece in the tray to select it.
- Double click it or press R to turn it. The Rotate button above the tray does the same job.
- Drag it onto the grid, into the space left by the blocks that were already sitting there.
- Reach for Hint 1 of 2 if you stall, or Reset board to clear what you have placed.
Why play Puzzlele?
A seven by seven grid, a handful of blocks nailed down before you arrive and a tray of awkward little shapes, with three difficulties so you choose how much of the board is left as a problem. What makes it moreish is the complete absence of pressure: no clock, no score, no streak, just two hints and a reset button. The date sits in the headline so it renews, and the site quietly remembers whether you are an E player or an H player.
Reading the feedback
Puzzlele runs no timer, no score and no attempt counter. What you get is the board itself plus two buttons that quietly report your position: Reset board is dimmed on a fresh grid, and the hint button counts itself down from 1 of 2. Everything else is spatial, either the piece fits the hole or it does not.
Modes
- Daily puzzle
- The headline reads your daily puzzle challenge with the date.
- Three difficulties
- E, M and H sit above the board as a button row, and the browser stores the last one you chose.
Tips & strategy
- Rotate before you drag. Selecting, turning and placing are three separate gestures here, and R is faster than reaching for the Rotate button above the tray.
- The blocks already on the grid when it loads are the puzzle, not scenery. The hole they leave is the shape your tray has to match exactly.
Popular questions
Does it remember my difficulty?
Yes. The browser keeps the last difficulty you used for the site.
How many hints do I get?
Two. The button is labelled Hint 1 of 2 before you have touched it.
