Spoiler ahead. This page holds the Connections groups for Sun, Sep 27. Every nudge and every group stays closed until you open it.
This is yesterday's NYT Connections, #1204 from Sun, Sep 27, kept for a day. The hints come first, then the answer, so you can check the grid you played. New to it? Our NYT Connections game page covers where to play, the modes and our tips.
Connections deals sixteen words and asks for four groups of four, with four mistakes to spend. The yellow group usually gives itself up first and the purple one hides behind wordplay, such as a hidden word, a sound-alike or a missing prefix. Most boards also plant a decoy: five words that seem to share a theme when only four of them do.
When five words fit one idea, one of them belongs somewhere else. Find a word that can only live in one group, build that group around it, and hold back the submit button until you can name all four categories.

Four groups of four words. Open one to confirm a group you already suspect, or all four.
