What is Morsle?
Morsle is a daily Morse-code decoding challenge in which a target word is played in Morse. Players listen and submit guesses; the game gives limited, letter-level feedback. The initial playback speed is 40 WPM and the match gives a fixed number of attempts with progressively slower playback after groups of tries.
How to play
- Listen to the target word played in Morse at the current WPM.
- Submit your guess for the word (one guess is allowed per listening).
- Receive feedback: letters you got right are marked in green; no other hints are provided.
- Use up to the allotted attempts (21) while the playback speed reduces by 5 WPM every three attempts.
Why play Morsle?
Morsle tests your Morse decoding under constrained feedback: you must reconstruct a word from audio only, with only correct letters revealed and a fixed number of attempts. It challenges listening accuracy and pattern recognition as playback speed changes over the course of the round.
Reading the feedback
After each submitted guess the game marks letters that are correct in green. No additional hints are provided. Playback speed starts at 40 WPM and is reduced by 5 WPM after every three attempts, and the match finishes when the player exhausts the allotted 21 attempts or (implicitly) completes the word.
Modes
- Core play
- The game's only format: decode a word played in Morse, submit guesses, and receive green-letter feedback. Playback speed and attempt limits are applied as described in the rules.
Tips & strategy
- You have 21 total attempts, plan listens and guesses accordingly.
- Correct letters will be shown in green; there are no other in-game hints.
- Playback starts at 40 WPM and slows by 5 WPM every three attempts, so note the speed changes.
