Parseword

Parseword is a wordplay game that asks you to transform a phrase until it reduces to two matching parts, then use that structure to solve a cryptic-style puzzle. Its tutorial demonstrates the underlying moves directly: trimming a letter, reversing words and combining multiple transformations. The daily puzzle can ask you to learn its techniques before attempting the clue.

1. Start with the Tutorial if the wordplay vocabulary is new; its opening rule is to reduce a puzzle into two matching parts.
2. Read each phrase as instructions as well as meaning: the tutorial gives examples of trimming letters, reversing words and combining transformations.
3. Open Today’s Puzzle and identify the terms that point to a required technique; the daily board links its clue language to a glossary.
4. Use Start Learning when the daily puzzle identifies techniques you have not yet learned, then return to the phrase and apply the relevant transformation.

Parseword is for players who enjoy seeing an ordinary phrase turn into an instruction set. It does not just ask for a word that fits a definition: you have to notice when a word wants you to cut, reverse or reassemble another. The built-in tutorial and starter material make the cryptic-crossover less forbidding than a blank crossword clue.

Parseword provides learning feedback before a solution is submitted. When the daily puzzle required unfamiliar techniques, it opened a prompt explaining that preparation was needed and offered “Start Learning” or “Skip Practice.” The active clue also linked terms such as “replacement” and “cycle” to its reference glossary.
