The killer never changes: a repeated letter, which the tiles report in a way players misread.
Most failed grids come down to a repeated letter, because a yellow tile says a letter is present without ever saying it appears twice. When three greens leave one slot open, list the consonants you have not tried yet instead of spending a guess on the first word that fits.
