What is Wordtrak?

Wordtrak dresses its board as a railway network: five 'traks' numbered and of increasing lengths (four squares on the second, seven on the fifth), a seven-letter rack with each tile showing its value, and bonus squares scattered along the lines, marked 2L or 3L. No keyboard appears: you take letters from the rack and confirm with SEND. The welcome note, signed "conductor's notice" with its locomotive emoji, is one sentence long: choose a trak, spell a word, aim for the highest score, and play the traks in any order you want. The banner shows the game number, the date and the total points, and the home screen publishes the day's top score with the username that holds it.

How to play

  1. Start the daily game from the home screen (PLAY DAILY): the banner displays the game number, the date and a counter at 0 PTS.
  2. Choose one of the five numbered traks. The note specifies they can be played in any order, and each line has its own length.
  3. Compose the word by taking letters from the seven-tile rack, each with its value printed small in the corner.
  4. Place high-value letters on the line's bonus squares, identifiable by their olive background and their label, 2L or 3L.
  5. Confirm with SEND. The board also offers SHUFFLE, PASS, and a SWAP link whose label includes a counter in parentheses.

Why play Wordtrak?

For placement calculation more than for word-guessing: seven valued letters, scattered multipliers, five lines of different lengths, and the freedom to decide which line gets which draw. With the day's top score shown on the home screen along with its holder's username, you know exactly the score to beat before placing the first letter.

Reading the feedback

Nothing is highlighted in green or yellow here; feedback is numerical. Each trak carries a dash to its right, and the banner counter starts at 0 PTS. The only colors on the board distinguish the bonus squares, olive-backed with their multiplier label, from ordinary beige squares. The external reference point is the home screen, which shows the day's top score and its author's name even before any play.

Modes

Daily game
A numbered, dated grid reached via PLAY DAILY from the home screen. The menu adds Leaderboard and Stats pages.

Tips & strategy

  • Letter values do not follow usual conventions: on one rack, G, C, P and Y were worth 5 while the two A's and the R were worth 2. Reading the numbers before composing changes the choice of word.
  • Bonus squares are not arranged the same way from line to line. On one board, the third trak had two 2L squares and the fourth had a single 3L in the last position.
  • Because traks can be played in any order, you can reserve the seven-square line for a draw that deserves it rather than suffer it first.
