What is Globle?

Globle is built around a globe and a color. Each day there is a mystery country; each failed guess is painted on the globe in a shade that conveys only one thing: how close it is to the answer. The warmer the color, the hotter you are. The help panel shows this with an example gradient that ranges from very pale beige to deep red. No distances in kilometers, no directional arrow, no attempt counter: you spin the globe and close in by color until you land on the correct country.

How to play

  1. The “How to Play” panel opens first; close it and click the globe to enter the game.
  2. Guess a country.
  3. It is colored on the globe according to its proximity to the mystery country, from coldest to hottest.
  4. Spin the globe to compare the shades you’ve already placed, and guess the most promising neighboring country until you find it.

Why play Globle?

Because it’s the geography game that best teaches neighbourhoods. By depriving you of any numerical measures, Globle forces you to reason by contiguity (which country borders which, where a continent ends), and a well-played round looks like a hunt that visibly tightens on the globe.

Reading the feedback

Color only. A guessed country remains displayed on the globe with its proximity color, gradually building a personal heat map around the answer. The browser’s local statistics keep won games, current streak and best streak, accessible from the statistics icon at the top of the screen.

Modes

Core play
A single default puzzle: each day there is one mystery country to find on a globe. You guess countries and each guess is painted on the globe in a color that conveys only proximity (warmer = closer). There are no distances in kilometres, no directional arrow and no attempt counter; you spin the globe to compare the proximity colours and keep guessing until you find the correct country. The site also records browser-local statistics (won games, current and best streak).

Tips & strategy

  • The first guess is for sweeping, not precision: a country in the middle of a continent tells you more than an isolated plausible pick.
  • Always compare two nearby shades by spinning the globe rather than judging them from memory: the difference in heat between two neighboring countries is what indicates which direction to take.
  • If the reds look too similar, go to settings: the game remembers a theme, a unit of distance and a color palette option.

Popular questions

Is there a guess limit?

The help panel doesn’t state any limit: it only asks you to find the mystery country in as few guesses as possible.

Is the game translated?

Yes. The language selector offers, among others, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.
