Weatherdle

Seven days of a city's genuine weather, pulled from Open-Meteo for a real recent week, and six tries to name the city. Each day card carries the high and low, precipitation, wind direction and speed, and a sun strength rating, and underneath sits a row of the month's typical figures: average high and low, humidity, rainfall and hours of sunshine. A new city goes live for everyone at 00:00 UTC.

1. Read the seven day cards. Wind arrows and sun strength are as much of the puzzle as the temperatures.
2. Check the typical for the month row underneath, which is what tells you the climate rather than the week's mood, and flip the units between Celsius and Fahrenheit if the numbers feel foreign.
3. Type a city and submit. Typing a country or a US state pulls up well known cities from it, and the dice button throws you a random one.
4. Read the chips your guess comes back with, then use the distance, the arrow and the map pin to close in. Six tries in total.

This one rewires how you read a forecast. Anybody can spot a tropical week, but Weatherdle makes you notice that steady sunshine with a stubborn wind direction and a humid monthly average is a narrower fingerprint than temperature alone, and the chips grade you on precisely that: climate family first, then hemisphere, then region. The generous solve radius and the near miss rule that protects your streak keep it from being cruel, and every number on the board is real data with a credit line, so a session actually leaves you knowing something about a place.

Every guess returns three chips, for climate, hemisphere and region, colour coded the same way throughout: same climate, similar climate meaning the same family, or other climate. Alongside them you get the distance to the answer, an arrow pointing toward it and a pin dropped on the world map, and tapping a chip opens the full breakdown. Landing within roughly 16 miles counts as solving it, so hitting an adjacent town is a win rather than a near miss.

A single default daily puzzle: you are shown seven days of a city's real recent-week weather (highs and lows, precipitation, wind direction and speed, sun strength, and the month's typical figures) and have six guesses to name the city. One city goes live for everyone at 00:00 UTC.

• The typical for the month row is the real classifier. A single week can be freakish, but the monthly humidity, rainfall and sunshine figures are what the climate chip is grading you against.
• Do not waste guesses on a hunch you cannot spell. Typing a country or a US state into the box lists its well known cities, which is both a shortcut and a way to check what the game considers a valid answer.
• On your last try, aim at a big neighbour rather than a wild continent. Losing with a guess inside roughly 31 miles of the answer keeps your streak alive, which is the difference between a bad day and starting over.
