Chrono Trivia stacks seven boards per day: one per category (Entertainment, Technology, Sports, Science, History, Culture) plus a Daily Mix that draws from all of them. Cards arrive with their year masked by "????" and a one-line subtitle, and you drag them between the EARLIEST FIRST marker at the top and the MOST RECENT LAST marker at the bottom. Category boards line up four events; the Daily Mix lines up six. Above the board are a countdown to the next puzzles, a TODAY /7 counter, a win rate, a streak, and a "From the archives" banner.

1. Choose a board in the CATEGORY row: Daily Mix, or one of the six categories.
2. Choose the difficulty just below: Classic ("Arrange in order") or Expert ("+ Guess the years").
3. Drag the cards to sort them, the oldest toward the top arrow and the most recent toward the bottom arrow.
4. Confirm with Check Order. You have three attempts, and the Use a hint button only unlocks after the first one.
5. Move to the next board: the TODAY /7 counter tracks the seven grids for the day.

Seven grids per day is generous for a one-swipe game, and yet each has its own character: sorting four inventions is nothing like sorting four pop-culture moments, where everything hinges on a margin of three years. The Daily Mix mixes the categories, and that's where you discover you place treaties very well and gadgets very badly.

The displayed rules state three attempts and a hint unlocked after the first try, then, once the board is completed, the correct order with the years revealed and the story behind each event.

Classic

"Arrange in order": you only sort the cards.

"+ Guess the years": in addition to sorting, you must type the exact year of each event, recorded separately on the site.

Past editions and their answers remain accessible, with the narrative for each event.

• The Use a hint button stays locked until you confirm once: your opening attempt is therefore never lost, it buys the hint.
• The Daily Mix lines up six cards versus four for category boards. Save it for last, once you've warmed up on Technology or Sports.
• In Expert, the site specifies that years are recorded separately from the sorting: you can get the dates wrong and still succeed on the order.
