Jaardle

Jaardle is a Wordle-style daily (or endless) history puzzle where you are shown a historic event and must guess the year it occurred in up to six tries. Each guess returns a coloured distance badge; optional hints (century, last digit, later events, direction) can be revealed at a points cost. Scores range 0-100.

1. Enter a year using the on-screen digits (use − for BC) and press Enter or the Guess button to submit.
2. After each guess the game shows a coloured badge indicating how far your guess is from the correct year and updates your score.
3. Swipe the facts carousel for free extra facts; tap Reveal to buy hints (100/250/500/1000/1500 years, century, last digit) or press R for a direction hint (max 2).

Jaardle tests historical knowledge and temporal intuition by turning events into a compact guessing puzzle. Players can tackle a shared daily puzzle or enjoy endless rounds, compete on score tiers and build a streak while balancing when to spend points on informative but costly hints.

Each guess produces a coloured badge that maps to a numeric range (green for exact, purple 1-2, yellow 3-10, orange 11-25, red 26-50, brown 51-200, white 201-599, black 600+). Direction arrows remain hidden until requested. Score starts at 100 and is reduced by tiered penalties and by purchased hints.

• Read the two free extra facts in the carousel before spending points on reveals.
• Save the century (🏛️ -20) and last-digit (🔢 -10) hints for later. They are relatively expensive compared to direction hints.
• Use direction hints sparingly (🧭 -3 each; max 2) since they reveal the arrow only on your latest guess.
