What is Yearbook?
Yearbook is a daily web trivia puzzle that chooses a random year (1950 to 2025) and gives four chronological clues about events from that year. Players submit a year guess up to four times, seeing progressively more specific clues after each wrong guess to help pinpoint the correct year.
How to play
- Read the first (vaguest) clue and type a year into the input.
- Submit your guess using the GUESS button; a wrong guess reveals the next clue.
- Repeat up to four guesses (one per clue) or stop when you reach the exact year.
Why play Yearbook?
Play Yearbook for a quick daily test of historical and pop-culture knowledge: deduce a single year from four clues that move from vague to specific. The format rewards precise timeline knowledge and offers a short, repeatable daily challenge with clear grading.
Reading the feedback
After each submitted guess the game shows graded feedback by proximity: exact year (🎯), one year off (🟩), within 5 years (🟨), within 10 years (🟧), or more than 10 years off (🟥). At the end, a letter grade is assigned: A+/A/B+/B for exact year on guesses 1 to 4, C+/C/D/F based on best proximity (within 1/5/10/more than 10 years).

Tips & strategy
- Clues are ordered from vaguest to most specific, wait for later clues if you need more detail, but earlier correct guesses earn higher grades.
- You have one guess per clue (four total), so use each submission to narrow the span rather than repeating similar years.
- Aim for exact or near-exact on earlier guesses to secure a higher letter grade, since exact answers on guesses 1 to 4 map to A+/A/B+/B respectively.
