What is Pell Puzzles?
Pell Puzzles is a 6x6 path-filling puzzle played in a browser. You must create exactly eight paths of unique lengths (1 to 8) that together fill the grid. For lengths 2 to 8 you connect exactly one X to one O; length 1 is made by clicking an X. The interface provides drawing, deleting and merging controls.
How to play
- Open a 6x6 puzzle and fill the grid by creating paths.
- Create a path by drawing (drag) from any empty cell or from an endpoint.
- For lengths 2 to 8, connect exactly one X to one O to form a path of the required length.
- For length 1, click an X to mark it as a single-cell path.
- Use Delete by clicking a path segment to break it, or Merge by dragging one endpoint into another to join paths.
- Avoid disallowed patterns: do not create a 2x2 solid block of path cells (No Pools) and paths cannot touch themselves (diagonal touching is allowed).
Why play Pell Puzzles?
Pell Puzzles challenges you to fill a 6x6 grid using exactly eight uniquely sized paths, combining spatial planning and length constraints. The site tracks times and moves, and provides leaderboards and per-puzzle statistics so you can measure and compare performance.
Reading the feedback
When you complete a puzzle the interface shows a 'Solved!' confirmation with your Time and Moves and offers 'Solve Order', 'Share Result' and 'Archive' options. The site also displays per-puzzle and global statistics such as Best Time, Average Time, Time Distribution, and a Global Leaderboard with rank and fast thresholds.
Modes
- Core play
- Solve a single 6x6 puzzle by creating exactly eight unique-length paths (lengths 1 to 8) under the game's placement rules. The interface provides drawing, deleting, merging and a timer; completion yields a solved state and stats.
Tips & strategy
- Length 1 paths are placed by clicking an X. You do not draw those.
- Do not form any 2x2 solid blocks of path cells (the game disallows 'Pools').
- Paths cannot touch themselves; diagonal adjacency is allowed but side-by-side touching is not.
Popular questions
How many paths do I need to create?
You must create exactly eight paths, each with a unique length: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
How does the game show completion and performance?
When a puzzle is completed the interface displays 'Solved!' with your Time and Moves and offers options like 'Solve Order' and 'Share Result'. The site also shows statistics such as Best Time, Average Time, and a Global Leaderboard with ranks and fast thresholds.
