Typecasted

Typecasted is a daily movie-trivia puzzle played on the web with two daily modes. Players connect films and actors by alternating film → actor → film links. Puzzles reset at midnight with new seed films and challenges. After playing, you can compare your result to others on a daily leaderboard and review solution details.

1. Choose a mode: Endless or Make the Cut from today's challenges.
2. Endless: start from the seed film and alternate linking film → actor → film, with no repeats allowed.
3. Endless timing: you have 20 seconds per guess; the clock resets each time you add a correct link. When time expires, your chain length is your score.
4. Make the Cut: you are given a start and destination film. Connect them by chaining films through shared cast members.
5. Make the Cut rules: complete the path in 5 moves or fewer to 'Make the Cut'; there is no timer. After finishing, view the shortest possible path and a breakdown of solutions.

Typecasted turns cast connections into daily puzzles that reward film knowledge and quick linking. Play a timed endurance challenge in Endless or a targeted puzzle in Make the Cut, then compare your results on the daily leaderboard or review shortest solutions to learn new connections.

Endless play produces a numeric score equal to your chain length when the timer runs out, and the site shows how that score ranks on the daily leaderboard. In Make the Cut, completing the path within five moves counts as having 'Made the Cut'; after finishing you can view the shortest path and a breakdown of how players solved the puzzle that day.

Make the Cut

Given a start film and a destination film, connect them by chaining films through shared cast members. Complete the path in 5 moves or fewer to 'Make the Cut'. • Alternate links as film → actor → film; repeats are not allowed.
• In Endless mode, a correct link resets the 20-second clock, so quick correct guesses extend play.
• In Make the Cut you can take time to plan, there is no timer, but you must complete within five moves to succeed.
