Roulettle

Roulettle transforms roulette, a game of pure chance, into a comparable contest. The principle is summed up in one line of the site description: everyone plays the same five rounds. Since the wheel results are identical for all, what distinguishes two players is no longer luck but the way they bet. The layout is that of an American roulette, with a 0 and a 00 in addition to the thirty-six red and black numbers, and the day begins with a login bonus that constitutes the entirety of the available bankroll.

1. Claim the day's login bonus, which supplies the starting bankroll.
2. Choose a chip value from the options provided, from the smallest up to the maximum chip.
3. Place bets on the table: straight numbers, columns at 2:1, dozens, red or black, even or odd, low or high.
4. Adjust if needed with Undo, Clear, or Repeat, then start with Spin.
5. Repeat until the fifth and final round of the day.

Because it's a roulette game whose strategy can be debated. Removing individual chance by giving everyone the same wheel solves the only problem that prevented this from being a daily game: when two players compare their results, they are finally comparing their decisions.

The header permanently displays the current round out of the day's five, the date being played, and the remaining bankroll, while a WAGER box totals what is staked before launching. The table itself indicates the payouts where they are not obvious, such as the columns' 2:1. At the end of a session, the emphasis is on the streak of consecutive days, with the amount the next day's login will pay.

• Because the five results are the same for everyone, betting small protects you from nothing: it only guarantees finishing behind those who bet big on the same winning numbers. The ranking compares final bankrolls, not survival rates.
• The highest chip is worth as much as the first day's bankroll. Committing everything on a single round is therefore materially possible from the opening, and it's a choice, not an accident.
• The first day's login bonus pays a thousand, and the screen announces two thousand for the next day. What it becomes beyond that, and what a missed day costs, is written nowhere.
• The full table remains available, including the 0 and 00 specific to American roulette. They are two extra pockets compared with a European wheel, and they are not included in any of the outside bets red, black, even or odd.
