BBall Tradle

Tradle takes a real trade and hides its pieces. Two columns appear, “Team A receives” and “Team B receives”, filled with players and draft picks, almost all blurred: only a single item is readable at the start. It’s up to you to identify the year of the transaction and the two franchises involved, in five attempts. The form has three inputs: a field for the year, two dropdowns for the teams, and a three-column table that keeps track of each guess. An NBA / NFL selector sits at the top of the page, and three modes share the bar: Daily, Infinite, Impossible.

1. Choose the sport with the NBA / NFL selector, then the mode: Daily, Infinite, or Impossible.
2. Read the trade in the two columns. Only one item is readable at first; the others remain blurred.
3. Fill in the three fields: the year in the left box, then each of the two teams in its dropdown list.
4. Validate with “Submit guess”. The attempt is recorded in the YEAR / TEAM 1 / TEAM 2 table and the remaining attempts counter decreases.
5. If the trade remains unreadable, a button offers to skip the turn to reveal an additional item, and another to give up.

Trades are a favorite bit of folklore among NBA fans: people remember who left, rarely what came back, and never the draft picks that accompanied the deal. Tradle flips the exercise: it shows you the package, blurs the essentials, and asks you to date the scene and name the two clubs. The feeling is like unfolding an archive: one readable name, an intuition of the era, then a second element that confirms or overturns everything. And when the trade of the day is completed, the Infinite mode is there for the next hour.

The tracking table judges the three parts separately: one column for the year, one for each team, and five rows in total. Also shown plainly: a counter of remaining attempts under the form, a timer starting at 00:00 in the input banner, and at the top of the page three simultaneous states: whether the daily is open or not, the Infinite mode streak, and progress on the Impossible mode exchanges.

NFL

The top selector switches the site from basketball to American football, on the same trade-reconstruction principle.

• Start with the year. It can often be deduced from the single readable item, and it’s the only one of the three answers that isn’t chosen from a list: once the era is narrowed down, the two franchises become much easier to pick.
• Skipping a turn reveals one more item of the trade. Out of five attempts, sacrificing one early to see a second piece often beats two years guessed at random.
• Teams are chosen from dropdown lists: no typos possible, but no approximations either. You must pick the exact franchise as of the time of the trade.
