Allegedly

Allegedly is a daily blind-item guessing game presented as a redacted news-style case. Each day a single blind item appears; players must name the redacted celebrity. The site tracks a streak and other simple stats. Optional clues and different editions (Hard, Night, Practice) change strikes and sharing behaviour.

1. Read the blind item: a redacted write-up describing something a famous person allegedly did.
2. Name the redacted celebrity within the allowed strikes (three in the Daily Edition).
3. If you miss, each miss unlocks a free clue; you may also unlock up to two optional clues that will print on your share receipt.

Allegedly offers a compact, daily guessing challenge: read a redacted blind item and name the celebrity before your strikes run out. The game encourages repeat play with a midnight refresh, streak tracking, shareable results, and multiple difficulty editions for variety.

The game gives immediate feedback via unlocks and stats: every miss unlocks a free clue, optional clues are revealed on your share receipt, and player progress appears in "Your Rap Sheet" (played, win %, streak, best, files closed, verdicts, night wins). Practice Edition explicitly doesn't affect your streak. There is also a "Last Chance" state where all clues are unlocked.

Daily Edition

One blind item a day. Three strikes to name the redacted celebrity. New edition at midnight; solve it, share the grid, and defend your streak.

Hard Mode

Hard Mode uses 2 strikes and disables optional clues.

Practice Edition

Practice Edition does not affect your streak and is presented separately from today's case.

Night Edition

After-hours Night Edition gives one extra case, uses 2 strikes, and has no optional clues.

Last Chance

A state where all clues are unlocked for the current case.

• Every miss unlocks a free clue. Use misses strategically to reveal more information.
• Optional 🔍 clues cost "nothing but pride" and will be printed on your share receipt (they are not hidden when you share).
• Use Practice Edition when you don't want an outcome to affect your streak.
