Quizl

Quizl is a daily general-knowledge quiz at quizl.io: five new multiple-choice questions every day, four answers apiece, pulled from history, film, literature, science, sport and pop culture. It is free, it needs no account, and a run takes a couple of minutes. What separates it from the other five-question dailies is its scoreboard. The Quizl wordmark at the top of the page has five letters, and each one takes the color of the matching question as you answer, so the logo doubles as your score card and turns gold when all five come back correct. Behind the daily sits the Vault, an archive holding every Quizl published since the first one in March 2022, and a multiplayer room for up to four friends. The same site runs three sibling dailies, Cryptl, Hex and Scrambled, reachable from the Gamemodes menu.

1. Open quizl.io and read the first of the day's five questions.
2. Tap one of the four answer buttons; the choice locks the instant you make it.
3. Read the color: your pick turns green when it was right and red when it was wrong, with the correct answer shown in green either way.
4. Watch the matching letter of the Quizl wordmark take the same color, then move on to the next question.
5. After the fifth question, open Stats for your score out of five, your streak and the countdown to the next Quizl.
6. Share the row of green and red squares, or open the Vault to play past puzzles.

Play Quizl if you want a two-minute general-knowledge hit with a streak worth protecting and a back catalogue deep enough to binge: the Vault carries every puzzle since March 2022 and releases five more each midnight. Skip it if you like a puzzle you can chew on, because there is nothing to deduce here, only recall, and one wrong tap ends a question for good. The daily keeps its five questions deliberately mainstream, so trivia regulars looking for a harder ceiling will find it in the Vault rather than on the front page.

Quizl grades a question the instant you tap. The button you chose turns green when it was right and red when it was wrong, and the correct answer is shown in green either way, so a miss hands you the answer but costs you the question: the daily allows no second attempt. Each result also colors one letter of the Quizl wordmark, and five correct answers turn the whole logo gold. A message calls the run when it ends, from "There's always tomorrow!" at zero to "Brainiac!!" at five, and the share text renders the same result as a row of green and red squares.

Daily Quizl

Five new trivia questions each day, four options apiece, one attempt per question. Stats records games played, current and longest streak, average score and a score distribution from 0/5 to 5/5, plus a countdown to the next puzzle.

Vault

The archive of past Quizls, back to the first one in March 2022. It opens at midnight, releases five puzzles a day and allows unlimited attempts on each, and a question answered correctly stays correct. Filters hide golden, attempted or unattempted puzzles.

Multiplayer

Play Quizl with up to four friends and compete for first place. Creating or joining a game requires a log in.

More gamemodes

The Gamemodes menu holds three sibling dailies from the same site: Cryptl, a daily cryptogram; Hex, which asks you to pick the correct answers to the day's question from a hexagon of choices; and Scrambled, a word-unscrambling race against the clock.

• Read all four options before touching one: the tap commits the answer, and nothing lets you take it back.
• The daily allows one attempt per question, so spend your guesswork in the Vault instead, where every past Quizl allows unlimited attempts.
• A Vault question answered correctly stays correct, so replaying a stubborn old puzzle only ever asks you to re-solve the ones you missed.
• The Vault opens at midnight and releases five puzzles a day, so clear that batch before the next one lands if you mean to work through the archive in order.
• Come back daily rather than in bursts: only consecutive days build the streak, and the share text adds the flame once the streak passes two.
• Chase five out of five to turn the wordmark gold, the same marker the Vault tracks under its Hide Golden filter.
