What is Wardle?
Wardle takes War Thunder's vehicle catalog and hides one per day. You suggest a tank, a plane or a ship, and the game replies attribute by attribute: country, class, speed, crew, battle rating. The modes bar lines up DAILY, GROUND, AIRPLANES, NAVAL, ENDLESS, LEADERBOARDS, CUSTOM and an ONLINE marked BETA, letting you choose to draw from the whole arsenal or restrict yourself to the branch you know. The footer announces version 2.3.9 and that the site is made in Svelte, and the header offers accounts, profiles and searching for other players.
How to play
- Choose the section: DAILY for the vehicle of the day, or GROUND, AIRPLANES and NAVAL to restrict the draw to one branch.
- Propose a vehicle by name. The game compares your choice to the hidden vehicle and returns a line of properties.
- Read the line column by column: the site lists the country, class, speed, crew and battle rating among the cues to use.
- Follow the up/down arrows on the numeric columns to tighten the range, then submit another guess.
Why play Wardle?
A War Thunder player knows their lineups better than they think, and Wardle points that out. Guessing from country, class and battle rating isn't reciting a spec sheet, it's reconstructing a place in a tree: which nation fields that type of chassis at that BR, which generation, what crew. The split into three branches is the real clever idea, because it lets you train exactly where you are weak: a pilot who can't recognize a cruiser can spend days in Naval mode until it clicks.
Reading the feedback
The site's "Quick Clue Guide" fits in four entries: green when the property exactly matches the secret vehicle, orange when you're close and should refine, red when the value doesn't match and you need to change direction, plus up/down arrows on numeric values to indicate which side to search.
Modes
- Daily
- The vehicle of the day. The site specifies that the selection changes at the UTC reset and that all players face the same puzzle, which makes comparisons of streaks and number of tries readable.
- Ground
- Draws restricted to ground vehicles. The site presents it as a test of intuition about armor and mobility.
- Airplanes
- Draws restricted to aviation, focused on recognizing flight characteristics.
- Naval
- Draws restricted to ships, with its own clues and comparisons according to the site.
- Endless
- As many consecutive rounds as you like, presented as the volume mode for practicing without waiting until the next day.
- Custom
- Custom game options: the site mentions sessions constrained by mode, country or preset.
- Leaderboards
- Rankings and profiles: wins, average number of guesses, first-try successes and streaks are listed there.
- Online
- Button in the modes bar, labeled BETA.
Tips & strategy
- The routine the game itself recommends: start broad to lock down nation and class first, and only then narrow down the battle rating. A first guess that's too narrow teaches you less than a well-chosen common vehicle.
- Orange is not a half-green: it means "you're close, refine," whereas red asks you to change direction. Treating both colors the same wastes guesses.
Popular questions
Does everyone have the same vehicle to find?
Yes for Daily mode. The site states that a secret vehicle is drawn each day at the UTC reset and that this gives a common baseline for comparing streaks and number of guesses.
Can you practice without waiting until the next day?
Yes. Endless chains as many fresh rounds as you want, and the Custom options allow you to set constraints by mode, country or preset.
