Dbdle

Dbdle asks for the Dead by Daylight killer of the day and answers back with a row of properties: gender, height category, terror radius, movement speed, range type, origin and release year. Type a killer, and the board reveals how that killer compares on each of them. The answer changes every 24 hours, and the panel is precise about when, midnight on Europe time at UTC+2, with a live countdown to the next one. Classic is one of five daily modes on the site, and a counter under the title tallies how many people have already found today's killer.

1. Type a killer's name into the box. The board reveals that killer's properties against the answer.
2. Read the colours across the row, and the arrows on the numeric properties, to work out which way to move.
3. Guess again with a killer chosen to test whatever the row left ambiguous, until every property comes back green.

Dead by Daylight's roster is a strange mix of licensed horror icons and originals, and the property list Dbdle grades on cuts straight across that: terror radius and movement speed are the numbers survivors internalise from a thousand chases, while origin and release year are the trivia of a game that has been adding killers for years. Because the numeric properties carry arrows, a first guess is never wasted, and the orange partial state gives the range-type column real teeth. The streak system is where the site gets demanding, asking for all five daily modes cleared inside seven guesses each, which turns a two-minute daily into a proper commitment.

Three colours and a direction. Green means the property is an exact match, orange means a partial match, red means no match at all, and up or down arrows on numeric properties tell you whether the answer's value sits higher or lower than your guess. Orange is the interesting state, because on a property like range type it means your guess overlaps the answer without covering it, a melee-only killer measured against one who is both melee and ranged.

• Terror radius, movement speed and release year all come back with arrows, so an opening guess that sits at an extreme on those three converts one attempt into three brackets.
• Origin is defined by the panel as the original realm or universe the killer is from, with examples running None, American, Chilean and Russian.
• Orange is not a consolation prize. On range type it narrows the field to killers who share part of your guess's profile, which is often a tighter cut than a green on gender.
• If you are chasing the streak, plan the whole day at once: it takes wins in all five modes, each within seven guesses, and one skipped day wipes it.
