Cemantle

Cemantle hides one word a day and grades every guess by meaning, not spelling. Each attempt comes back as a temperature, and the page shows the full scale: ‰1000 with a 🥳 for the word itself at 100.00°C, then 😱, 🔥 and 🥵, down through 😎 and 🥶 to 🧊 at −100. The per-mille column is the sharper instrument: once a guess enters the thousand closest words, it gets a rank out of 1000, and the hunt becomes surgical. It is the English sibling of the French cémantix, by the same author, with yesterday's answer always shown.

1. Type any word and submit. There is no letter constraint, only meaning.
2. Read the verdict: °C temperature and emoji tier, plus a ‰ rank out of 1000 once you enter the thousand nearest words.
3. Steer by synonym clusters: each hot word is a direction, and the ranked table keeps your whole trajectory visible.
4. Close the gap until ‰ reaches 1000, the 🥳 line, then come back tomorrow; yesterday's word is always published.

Because it is the purest form of the semantic-guessing idea: no letters, no positions, just the geometry of meaning, computed from word2vec vectors, the site credits Semantle for the concept and Google's word2vec for the model. The temperature scale gives the mid-game a texture Wordle-likes lack: you can be burning for ten guesses while circling a synonym cloud, and the day's page shows how many players have already found it, which quietly turns the solo hunt into a race.

Every guess lands in a ranked table with four readings: its temperature in °C, an emoji tier from 🧊 to 🥳, and, once you crack the top thousand, a ‰ rank out of 1000 with a progress bar. Ten 🧊 icons at the start mark the cold void before your first warm word. The site keeps a history tab, a word-cloud view of your session, and a quiz variant that asks you to uncover a Wikipedia page.
