What is ClueDay?
ClueDay presents each day as a case to solve: a numbered 'case', dated, signed with the author's initials, with a mystery word and five clues. The first clue is offered right on the homepage; the others are paid for by mistakes. A mascot named Clue-E greets you at the bottom of the page, and the site files its old cases under Past Cases.
How to play
- Read the first clue, displayed with the case of the day on the homepage.
- Type a word on the on‑screen keyboard, then confirm with ENTER.
- Each wrong guess fills a line and unlocks the next clue, as the instruction says: "Each wrong guess reveals a new clue!".
- Continue until you find the right word, using as few clues as possible.
Why play ClueDay?
ClueDay understands that a free clue has no flavour. Here the five clues truly exist, but there is no button to claim them: the only way to get the next one is to be wrong, which makes each guess an arbitration rather than a free move. The detective dressing (the numbered case, the author's signature, the mascot Clue-E), gives this little economy the tone of a serial rather than an exercise. And the training case, rare in the genre, walks the interface through step by step.
Reading the feedback
The clue counter is the real dashboard: it instantly shows how much help remains and how much you have already used. Each wrong guess fills a row of the grid and brings up the next clue card in the column; as the site's line puts it, "Each wrong guess reveals a new clue!". The game also offers a guided training case that walks this mechanism through step by step, button by button.
Modes

Tips & strategy
- A wrong guess is not a pure loss since it buys the next clue, but it is visible on the counter: the counter is what tells others about your game.
- The training case walks through the keyboard and grid interaction step by step, button by button.
