Double Take

Double Take doesn't give a grid but a prompt: « What word can mean both... and... ? », the two senses highlighted in red on a cream background. A single word, or a single phrase, must cover both meanings. Below the prompt, five bubbles wait, one per try, with a field "Type your answer..." and a button "Go".

1. Read the two meanings highlighted in the "TODAY'S PUZZLE" box.
2. Look for the single word or phrase that satisfies both meanings at once.
3. Type the answer into the field, using the on‑screen keyboard (it includes a space bar, so answers may be more than one word).
4. Submit with "Go" while watching the counter, which starts at 0/5.

It's the shortest possible format for a word game: two definitions, one field, five bubbles. Nothing to fill in, nothing to place, just that small click when the two meanings meet.

Progress is shown on one line: "0/5 attempts" and five bubbles aligned under the prompt.

Core play

A single default puzzle: the home screen shows one prompt ("What word can mean both... and... ?"), a single answer field with a "Go" button and an on‑screen keyboard (which includes a space bar), and a five‑try counter displayed as bubbles and "0/5 attempts". The interface only offers "Lobby" and "Stats", and no alternate play modes are presented.

• The presence of a space bar on the on‑screen keyboard is a format hint: the answer can be a multiword expression.
• The example shown on the game's home screen (a date and a fruit for DATE) indicates the intended register: common words with double lives, not rare vocabulary.
