What is Duotrigordle?

Duotrigordle is thirty-two five-letter grids shown at once, with 37 guesses to solve them all. Each word you type is applied to all thirty-two boards at once: an entry that tells you nothing about one grid can lock in three others. The game accepts only real English words and the round ends when the 32 words are found or the guesses are exhausted.

How to play

  1. Type a five-letter word and confirm with Enter.
  2. Read the colors on the thirty-two boards: green for a correctly placed letter, yellow for a letter that appears elsewhere, gray for an absent letter.
  3. Choose the grid to focus your next guesses on, keeping in mind that each entry is spent for everyone.
  4. Keep going until all 32 words are found or the guess counter runs out.

Why play Duotrigordle?

It’s escalation pushed to deliberate absurdity: thirty-two grids, five spare guesses, and resource management that feels closer to a logic puzzle than a vocabulary game. The built-in tools (watermarks, inconsistency alerts, automatic solving of obvious grids) make it clear where the grind is and where the fun is.

Reading the feedback

Classic green/yellow/gray color code, but Duotrigordle adds two aids designed for the mass of boards. The “ghost letters” show, in watermark form in the input area, the green letters already secured column by column. Inconsistency warnings turn your entry yellow when it cannot logically be the solution for a grid, for example if you type a different letter under an already-known green. Words resolved by Solve Assist appear in purple rather than green.

Modes

Daily Duotrigordle
The daily game: 32 grids visible simultaneously, 37 guesses.
Daily Sequence
Only one grid visible at a time; the next appears only once the previous one is solved. Two extra guesses, 39 in total.
Daily Jumble
The first three words are randomly selected and entered for you, which prevents the usual openings. One extra guess, 38 in total.
Perfect Challenge
Find the 32 words in exactly 32 guesses; the first word you type is automatically correct.
Practice
The practice tab in the main menu, next to Daily.

Tips & strategy

  • “Input hints” are on by default: use the inconsistency-yellow as a safety net. It flags an impossible entry before you spend the guess. They can be turned off in settings if you prefer to play without them.
  • Solve Assist automates grids that have become obvious (five greens, or four greens and a yellow) and does so by pure deduction, without consulting a dictionary, which saves guesses on boards already decided.
  • Sequence mode hides all thirty-two boards except one: the two extra guesses don’t make up for the loss of information, so it’s better approached with well-practiced openings.

Popular questions

How many guesses for how many words?

37 guesses for 32 secret words in the normal game. Sequence gives 39, Jumble 38.

What does Solve Assist do?

Enabled in settings, it inspects each board and automatically solves those that admit only a single logical solution. These words appear in purple rather than green.

What is the Perfect Challenge?

To find the 32 words in exactly 32 guesses, with no spare guess. The first word you type is given: it is automatically correct.

WORD

Twelve words to sort into four bins of three: three hidden roots labelled by their meaning, plus an IMPOSTORS bin for words that only look like kin.

Expresso

WORD

The hidden answer is a whole expression, not one word. Type letters and read three colours, the third marking a letter that belongs in a different word.

Fibble

WORD

Nine rows of five letters, a first word already played, and a warning under the grid: Beware the lies. Every colour is a hypothesis to test, not a fact.
