What is Letter Flick?

Letter Flick is a daily word-physics puzzle played in a web browser. You solve each day’s scrambled word by flicking letter tiles so other tiles are knocked off the 7x7 board and land in the word bar. The game provides color-coded feedback for each letter placed in the bar, and you can practice with warm-up puzzles before attempting the daily challenge.

How to play

  1. Tap (or click-and-drag) a letter tile and flick it in the direction you want; the tile slides until it hits another tile or the board edge.
  2. A moving tile stops when it hits another tile; the tile that gets knocked off the board is the one that goes to the word bar (not the flicked tile).
  3. A flick requires momentum: there must be at least one empty grid cell between the flicked tile and the tile it will knock into.
  4. When a tile lands in the word bar it is highlighted with a color hint (Blue, Orange, or Grey).
  5. Use undos to rewind moves (the site shows a limited number of undos).
  6. Finish when the word bar is entirely blue; there is one letter left on the board after completion.

Why play Letter Flick?

Letter Flick mixes daily word puzzles with simple physics: flick tiles, create combo collisions, and deduce the target word from color hints. The game offers practice puzzles for learning, concise daily challenges, and immediate feedback through the word bar’s color cues.

Reading the feedback

When a letter lands in the word bar it is highlighted to indicate both letter correctness and move correctness. Blue means the correct letter placed by the correct move; Orange means the letter is correct for that slot but the flick (or the specific tile used) was wrong; Grey means the letter and move are both wrong. The objective is to turn the entire word bar blue. The game also displays a fixed number of undos and prevents replaying a finished daily puzzle.

Modes

Daily puzzle
The primary format: one new puzzle unlocks each local midnight. Play today’s scrambled word, use flicks and undos, and once you finish the daily puzzle it is complete and cannot be replayed.
Practice / Warm Up
Practice puzzles and a Warm Up are provided to help new players learn mechanics. Practice puzzles are explicitly mentioned as available and used to train flicks, momentum, and combo shots.

Tips & strategy

  • Ensure there is at least one empty cell between the flicked tile and the tile you want to knock: a flick needs that empty space for momentum.
  • Use combination shots: a moving tile can transfer momentum through intermediate tiles so a third tile flies off the board.
  • Remember the tile you flick usually stays on the board; the knocked tile is what goes into the word bar.
  • You have a limited number of undos (the interface shows undos); use them to rewind mistaken flicks.

Popular questions

How are moves validated or shown to be correct?

Each letter placed into the word bar is highlighted with a color: Blue for correct letter and correct move, Orange for the correct letter but wrong move, and Grey for both letter and move being wrong.
