Letterinth

Letterinth presents a maze made of letters. The day's grid fills the screen as soon as you open it, with no title screen or start button, and a few fully black squares interrupt the letter pattern. The instruction is a single sentence in the help panel: find the message to exit the maze. The message in question is a quotation, and the game is up-front: beneath the grid, an attribution line names the author and the work it comes from, while a title crowns the day's maze. A HINT button and a LIBRARY entry complete the setup, with a link inviting readers to submit their own quotations.

1. Open the page: the day's maze is already there, with its title, its date and its attribution line beneath the grid.
2. Consult HOW TO PLAY if needed. The panel is one sentence and shows a small demonstration grid where a letter is circled in pink and a black square occupies a corner.
3. Return to the day's maze with the RETURN button, and use HINT if you get stuck.

Because the idea is simple and lovely: a literary quotation folded into a maze, and an exit that exists only if you read the right path. You are as much a reader as a player, and the source announced beneath the grid gives each grid a different tone according to the day's author.

The signals are visual: the black squares interrupt the grid, the help panel's demonstration marks a letter with a pink halo, and the quotation's context (the day's title, author and work), is provided even before you begin searching.

• The attribution line beneath the grid names the source of the quotation before you've found it: it's a provided foothold, not a decorative signature, the author's style and era guide the reading.
