Parley

Parley makes translation a limited resource. Five English words must be guessed during the day, and twelve languages are available to help you: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. Tapping a flag reveals the translation of the current word and plays it aloud, but each language can be used only once across the five words.

1. Look at the current word, indicated by a counter like "Word 1 of 5", with its blank tiles and its category label.
2. Tap a flag to reveal the translation in that language and hear it pronounced, knowing that the counter of remaining languages decreases accordingly.
3. Type the answer in English into the input field and confirm with Guess.
4. Move on to the next word: the five words share the same pool of twelve languages.

The economy of the round is about languages rather than attempts. Choosing to open Japanese or Portuguese becomes a strategic decision, dictated as much by what you can read as by the difficulty of the current word.

A wrong guess makes letters appear in the tiles of the current word without changing the counter of remaining languages, which still reads "12/12 languages remaining". The official panel confirms this mechanism: a wrong answer reveals letters, and it states that the score depends on the number of hints used, with a maximum of 15.

Core play

A single default puzzle: each round presents five English words (the UI shows a counter like "Word 1 of 5") with blank tiles and a category label. Twelve flag buttons (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Arabic) reveal the written translation and play it aloud when tapped; each language can be used only once across the five words and a remaining-languages counter is shown. Wrong guesses reveal letters in the current word without reducing the languages counter. Score depends on the number of hints used, with a maximum of 15. This is the only mode the game offers.

• Languages are the real resource: save the ones you read best for the words that resist, and don't open a flag on the first word out of mere curiosity. It won't come back.
• A wrong guess filled in tiles without reducing the languages counter: typing guesses and opening flags don't draw from the same pool.
• The category label shown above the tiles bounds the semantic field even before the first hint: it is free, unlike the flags.
