Word Spill

Word Spill lays out its letters in a grid and asks you to connect at least three tiles that touch, in any direction, by tapping or swiping. The tiles of the formed word then leave the board and the others shift, which reconfigures the adjacencies with each word. The page advertises a daily meeting and a board to clear. Each tile also carries a small number in its corner, between 1 and 3 on the training board, which the observed help panel says nothing about.

1. First follow the training round, which dictates the word to spell and the tile to start from.
2. Tap or swipe over touching letters to form a word of at least three letters.
3. Watch the current word in the bar above the grid; the selected tile turns green.
4. Let the tiles of the word leave the board: the remaining letters shift and create new adjacencies.
5. Two buttons close the training exercise, Spell for me and Skip practice.

The point isn't just to find a word, it's to choose which one to play now. Each played word slides the board and transforms the adjacencies in an instant, so a brilliant word played too early can bury three easy words. It's the vertigo of falling-tile games, transposed to vocabulary.

Selection is shown live: the chosen tile turns green and its letter is added to the top bar. The feedback promised by the help panel is then physical rather than color-based, since the tiles of the validated word fall and redraw the board. The check did not go beyond the training round: neither word validation, nor the fall of tiles, nor the role of the number on each tile were therefore observed.

The page title and description present Word Spill as a daily word puzzle; the day's board was not reached during verification.

• Three letters are enough, and a short word already drops three tiles: when the board freezes, the outcome is more often short than spectacular.
• Each validated word redistributes the adjacencies, so the order in which you play your words matters as much as the words themselves.
