Songdle

Songdle doesn't ask one question but three, about the same excerpt. The game board opens with three tabs (Artist, Song and Year), plus a classic audio player set to thirty seconds (0:00 / 0:30). You answer in the tab of your choice, one field at a time, with a Skip button on the right and a central Submit that stays greyed out until a suggestion is selected. Above, a date bar shows the day written out with a "Today" pill and an arrow on each side. Under the player, a "Switch to Turntable" button offers an alternate listening layout. The site also has a Leaderboard and a Login button, but the day's game opens without an account.

1. Start the thirty-second excerpt in the player, at the bottom of the game card.
2. Stay on the Artist tab to name the performer, or skip it with Skip.
3. Switch to the Song and then Year tabs for the other two answers; the Submit button stays centered, flanked by two arrows.
4. Check the date bar above the board: the "Today" pill marks the current round.

Because recognizing a song and dating it are two different pleasures, and Songdle refuses to choose: artist, title and year from the same excerpt. It’s like a Sunday-morning radio quiz, three rounds in thirty seconds.

The Submit button stays greyed out until a suggestion is chosen from the field's list: typing free text is not enough to activate it. The feedback structure is three separate questions on a single excerpt, each in its own tab, with a Skip tied to the field rather than the entire round. The leaderboard is handled elsewhere, in the Leaderboard tab of the top bar, and a Login button suggests progress linked to an account. The page theme is stored locally, with no record of a played game.

Turntable

A "Switch to Turntable" button under the player that offers an alternate listening presentation.

Leaderboard

A dedicated tab in the top bar, next to the Login button.

• The three tabs are filled separately: if the year seems clearer to you than the title, nothing forces you to start with the artist.
• The player is a standard audio player with a progress bar and volume: you can replay a specific passage instead of having to take the full thirty seconds in one block.
