Trackdyl

Trackdyl displays a blurred album cover and asks only one thing: the artist's name. Not the title, not the album. Everything is presented in a fake desktop window titled "Trackdyl - TRACKDYL.EXE", including Game and Help menus, placed on a nostalgic radio site that presents itself as a time capsule of the '60s to '90s. Below the image, six empty lines await guesses, then a "Name the artist..." field, a Guess button and the line that sums it up: six guesses left, and the image de-blurs with each miss. A statistics panel follows below, showing games played, win percentage, current streak and best streak.

1. Look at the blurred cover in the center of the TRACKDYL.EXE window.
2. Type an artist's name into the "Name the artist..." field and submit with Guess.
3. After each miss, revisit the image: it becomes one step clearer, and the line under the field counts down the remaining guesses.

Because the cover is the one element of a record you recognize without playing it. Trackdyl turns that reflex into a game and dresses it up as old desktop software, window with title bar and Game/Help menus included. The whole thing holds together: a nostalgic radio site, an image that slowly reveals itself, and an artist's name that always comes back to you a second after you've typed it.

The feedback is visual. Nothing changes color, nothing is commented on: the blur simply recedes, step by step, with each mistake. The six lines above the field keep a record of the guesses made, and the "6 guesses left" counter decreases accordingly. The field expects an artist chosen from its list rather than free text: anything else fills no line and leaves the counter at six guesses. The stats stay at zero until a round is completed, with the note "Play a round to start your stats". The browser also stores a daily streak count and a freeze counter, but they belong to the G33Z3R portal, not Trackdyl's stats panel.

Leaderboard

A "🏆 Leaderboard →" link under the stats panel, and an entry of the same name in the site's PLAY menu.

• The game asks for the artist, not the record. A cover you immediately recognize only counts if you know who it's by.
• Each mistake buys clarity: on an image still unreadable, a plausible guess is better than nothing, since it visually brings you closer to the answer.
• The site revolves around the '60s to '90s: typography, photographic grain and cover layout style often date the record before faces are even recognizable.
