Cyphr

Cyphr is a daily pyramid word puzzle where each tile shows a number that corresponds to a letter. Players start at the top of the pyramid and guess letters one at a time; each row forms a word. A new Cyphr appears at midnight with new words and a new random mapping of numbers to letters.

1. Start from the top tile of the pyramid and read the number shown on each tile.
2. Guess the letter that corresponds to a number (the same number corresponds to the same letter throughout the pyramid).
3. You may guess one letter at a time; you do not need to reveal letters in the order they appear in the word.
4. When you guess a letter correctly, that tile turns green and the number is shown in the corner as a reminder.
5. Complete each row (word) to unlock the next row; the game ends when all words are guessed.
6. You can make up to 26 incorrect guesses. Try the Practice Round to learn the interface.

Cyphr offers a fresh daily puzzle with a changing letter-to-number code and a pyramid layout that unlocks words as you progress. The game includes a practice round, a harder mode for extra challenge, and accessibility options like zoom and animation settings.

Correct guesses visibly change the tile: a correct tile turns green and the number is retained in the corner as a reminder. In hard mode, the number reminder disappears when you correctly guess the next tile. Completing a word unlocks the next word. The page also states a limit of 26 incorrect guesses as a constraint on play.

Daily puzzle (core)

The main format: a daily Cyphr puzzle that refreshes at midnight. Each daily puzzle uses new words and a new random assignment of numbers to letters.

Practice Round

An explicitly available practice round to try the puzzle mechanics without reference to the daily puzzle.

Hard Mode

A mode variation where the number reminder shown in a tile is removed when you correctly guess the next tile, increasing difficulty.

• Start at the top of the pyramid as instructed. Tiles are intended to be solved top-down to unlock rows.
• You do not need to guess letters in the order they appear in a word, so use revealed letters to deduce others.
• Use the Practice Round to get familiar with the mapping and feedback before attempting the daily puzzle.
• If the pyramid is hard to read, click and drag on it to zoom and scroll; animations can be disabled from settings for accessibility.
