Octordle

Octordle is a Merriam-Webster eight-board word puzzle. Every valid five-letter guess is applied to all eight hidden words at once, so a single guess must deliver information across multiple boards. The standard daily game gives you 13 guesses to solve all eight words.

1. Choose the standard Daily game or another listed Octordle variant.
2. Enter a valid five-letter word and submit it; the same guess is applied to each unsolved board.
3. Use the tile colors on each board to update your word choices.
4. Solve all eight words within the relevant mode’s guess limit.

Choose Octordle if a single Wordle board feels too narrow. The shared guesses force you to balance broad letter coverage against the need to finish individual boards, while the variants offer gentler, harsher and more sequential versions of the same core challenge.

After every guess, green marks a letter that is in the word and in the correct position, yellow marks a letter in the word but in the wrong position, and gray marks letters absent from that word. At the end, each board shows the guess count as an emoji and the game displays a numeric total score. In Daily and Sequence, lower totals are better; in Rescue, higher totals are better.

A daily variant with 16 guesses.

Extreme

A daily variant with 12 guesses and more unusual words.

Sequence

Only one unsolved word is visible at a time; solving it unlocks the next, with 15 guesses allowed.

Rescue

Try to recover a game after computer-selected starter guesses; the tutorial states that nine guesses are available for eight words.

A separately listed daily mode for Octordle premium members.

Practice and Archive

The official navigation exposes practice and an archive of prior game numbers.

• Choose early guesses with letters that can distinguish possibilities on several boards, because each submission applies to every unsolved word.
• Prioritize boards with the strongest green and yellow evidence rather than treating all eight boards equally.
• In Daily and Sequence, solve words earlier to improve the lower-is-better total score; in Rescue, focus on maximizing solved words and spare guesses.
