Omitten

Omitten replaces the grid with a single sentence. A piece of text appears in a frame with a gap marked [ _ ] where a word is missing, and the whole game is to name that missing word. The page shows the current date and a points value above the frame, and a button offers an additional clue sentence for a lesser amount.

1. Read the sentence shown in the frame: the missing word is marked by [ _ ] exactly where it should appear.
2. Type your answer into the 'Type your guess...' field, then submit with Submit Guess.
3. If the sentence isn't enough, click Next Clue, whose label shows 75 pts while the header counter displays 100 pts.

No tiles, no on-screen keyboard, no colors: Omitten fits into a typeset sentence and a text field. It's more a game of reading than of combinatorial deduction, where the hint is priced in advance and forces you to decide whether the sentence in front of you is worth a try.

The only visible cues on the screen are the points counter beneath the date and the amount shown on the hint button.

Core play
