Sampledle

Sampledle plays the original record, not the hit. You hear the loop a producer went digging for, and you must name the famous song that sampled it. The deck is dressed in vinyl: STEREO, 33⅓ RPM, SIDE A, a duration counter, the label “FULL LOOP SAMPLE” and the day number. The help panel invites you to look at the stickers, which announce what’s playing (voice, drums or melody), so you know whether you’re hearing the sample’s backbone or a detail. An INFO PANEL lines up four headings, GENRE, YEAR, ARTIST, COVER, which open as you miss guesses.

1. Press '▶ TAP TO PLAY' to start the loop; the panel warns that loading may take a few seconds.
2. Read the stickers, which indicate the type of sample playing (voice, drums, melody).
3. Type the title of the hit into the field provided and submit.
4. After an error, or by pressing SKIP, consult the INFO PANEL: one box opens (GENRE, YEAR, ARTIST, COVER) and the game announces that an additional sample may unlock.

Because the sample is the only place where the history of music can be heard in cross-section: under the hit there’s a record someone went digging up. Sampledle approaches it from that angle, and the cardboard-prop turntable, with its stickers and 33⅓ counter, gives each round a whiff of the record-bin.

Feedback is about revealing: the game itself states that a wrong answer and a SKIP have the same effect, opening new clues and possibly an extra sample, which makes choosing to skip anything but shameful. The INFO PANEL acts as a dashboard, with its ATTEMPTS line and four clue boxes ordered from vaguest to most telling: genre first, cover last. The footer reminds that the site holds no rights to the audios played.

The Archive

A button labeled “THE ARCHIVE (PLAY PAST PUZZLES)” beneath the deck, which lists puzzles from previous days.

• Start by reading the sticker: a drum loop and a string motif aren’t searched for in the same places, and the game tells you which of the two is playing.
• SKIP is not surrender. It opens an INFO PANEL box exactly like a wrong answer, and can unlock an extra sample: when you’re stuck, it’s better than a random guess that wastes an attempt.
• The expected answer is the hit, not the sampled record. A loop you identify on first listen is worth nothing until you’ve named who used it.
